Youth, Health, Safety, Training, and Community Services

Teen Corps members are required to obtain and maintain current American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED certification. Furthermore, they are encouraged to become instructors and instructors' aides for first aid classes designed for children. Teen Corps members have also developed teaching teams so that they may deliver peer-facilitated Training, Business Development and Community Services and Disaster Preparedness training to the youth in Central Florida.

Teen Corps members choose, plan, and perform a wide variety of community service projects throughout the Orange, Osceola and Seminole tri-county area. Projects include working with Green-Up Orlando, Second Harvest Food Bank, Central Florida Coalition for the Homeless, Florida Citrus Sports Association, and collaborations with a variety of community-based organizations, such as Hands-On Orlando, Boy Scouts of America, and Kiwanis Clubs. Community activities can include planting and landscaping, teaching and taking classes, organizing food drives, visiting nursing homes, and just setting good examples in the community.
