E-mail this pageAmerican Red Cross first aid, CPR and AED programs are designed to give you the confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life. Additional training in bloodborne pathogens, oxygen administration and injury prevention can be added to CPR and first aid training to prepare you to prevent and respond to life-threatening emergencies.
Red Cross first aid, CPR and AED programs are available for any age and can be tailored to the needs of specific groups and individuals. Whether you work with children, want training for employees, are a professional rescuer, or simply want to know how to help someone in an emergency, the American Red Cross has a program for you. Types of Courses:
- For Your Community - From CPR, first aid and automated external defibrillator (AED) training to injury prevention courses, bloodborne pathogens training and community disaster education, you can team up with the most trusted name in health and safety training for nearly a century - the American Red Cross. Build the program that works for your business using our modular curriculum. Courses can be taught at Red Cross facilities or at your workplace, based on the number of people registered. To meet the needs of Central Florida businesses, our Red Cross will tailor our training to fit your workplace needs.
- For Professional Rescuers - Our professional rescuer courses are designed for people who have a job-related duty to respond in an emergency. This includes nurses, law enforcement and EMS personnel, fire fighters, business and industry response teams, lifeguards, flight attendants, and others who must take action in emergency situations.
- Basic Aid Training (B.A.T.):
Thousands of young Central Florida scouts trying to meet first aid training requirements, particularly those in the Boy Scout Weblos program, will go "batty" over this version of Basic Aid Training or B.A.T., for third and fourth graders. Participants can meet "Ready Man" badge requirements in one, six-hour class with activities and games that make safety-learning fun. Topics include care for choking, bleeding and breathing emergencies; poisoning; burns; shock; car safety; water safety; water rescue; and avoiding drugs and other harmful substances.

This 2.5 hour review course is for those individuals who have had this training before,are about to expire and needs to recertify in adult CPR with AED. This short review of information and hands-on skills training prepares participants to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults.
