Joel W. Hass

Joel W. Hass joined the American Red Cross of Central Florida on February 3, 2003 as Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to this, Joel was Vice President for Regional Development of the Florida Division of Adventist Health System. In this capacity, he coordinated the planning for four Foundations in the State of Florida. Previously, Joel was President of the Florida Hospital Foundation in Orlando, Florida. Under Joel's leadership, the Foundation grew from 10 employees to 25 employees and the net worth of the Foundation increased from $15,000,000 to $45,000,000. Planned Giving also increased from an average of $3,000,000 annually to over $50,000,000.

Joel received a Master's Degree in Business Administration, with emphasis in Marketing, from the University of Maryland in 1977. Joel also received a Master's Degree in Health Administration from the University of Minnesota in 1983. He has previously served as President of Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos, Texas, and has held numerous marketing, public relations and foundation positions throughout his career.

Currently Joel serves as Vice Chair for Community Accountability for myregion.org and is on the Chamber Board of Governors. Joel is also in the inaugural class of the Regional Leadership Academy which is being sponsored by myregion.org, for the purpose of training regional leaders to implement regional initiatives.

His volunteer work in the past has included Vice Chair of Regional Programs for the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce and Vice Chair of Regional Performance for myregion.org. He formerly served as Vice Chair of Regional Development for the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce and Chair of myregion.org, which is a seven county regional planning initiative. In this position he facilitated raising $2,000,000 from regional business to support the project and chaired a 100 member regional board of advisors and a 26 member executive committee.
